“Leisepark” by Bernadette Geyer and Monika Müller-Kroll’s “Self Portrait.”

“Mommy, can we go to the Leisepark? My eight year old daughter asked me this one afternoon.”

“The group of paramedics is taken by surprise. They are over 50 oil paintings on the wall of the long narrow hallway, mostly portraits and a few landscapes.”

Bernadette Geyer is a writer, editor, and translator living in Berlin. She is the author of the poetry collection “The Scabbard of Her Throat” and editor of “My Cruel Invention: A Contemporary Poetry Anthology.” You can find links to more of her creative writing on her website.
